1. Are you having a Girl or Boy?
We don’t know yet! There aren’t enough surprises in life, so we’re going to leave this unknown until we meet the little one!
2. Where are you planning on giving birth?
We’re planning on giving birth in Albuquerque at Dar a Luz birthing center, which is a balance between a home birth and a hospital birth.
3. Where are you registered?
Nowhere! We have too much baby stuff already; we have been given so many pre-loved items from friends, family, and our local community. Like a room and a garage full of it. We have been passing some of it on already. We are not registered, and we want to minimize support to faceless national corporations (cough…Amazon…cough). 4. Have you decided on a name yet?
We haven’t settled on one quite yet, but we have lists of prospective options. Feel free to make suggestions!
5. Can I help with a meal train or other postpartum support?
Yes, thank you! We have some favourite recipies listed on our Recipes & Meal Train page if you want to make something. Caitlin has some food intolerances, so please check out that page for details. You can also use our Meal Train link:

If you’d like to help with things around the house, let us know! Our cats will probably want some extra attention, and we might like some help with picking up groceries, light cleaning, or watching the baby so we can get a little extra sleep.
6. Do you feel ready?
Pretty much! Caitlin has been working as a birth doula and has a lot of knowledge and experience regarding childbirth. She is looking forward to experiencing birth herself for the first time. We have taken at least half a dozen birthing classes together through our birthing center, from labor, to breastfeeding, to car seat safety, and others. Wes has been reading several books about the pregnancy and childbirth experience. We will also have a doula for support, so we’re as set as we can be. We will probably never feel 100% prepared, but we’re ready to flex with the circumstances.
